Biography
Marian Berg has been making art for over thirty-five years. She was born in Chicago and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College and received a B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University.
She continued her art education at the University of New Mexico and is currently working on a Teaching Certification in Art Education at UNM.
Marian has also studied with various individual artists over the years, including Nina Weiss, Ginny Sykes, Alain Gavin, Gay Riseborough and Allison Aragon.
She fell in love with the dramatic New Mexican landscape and has made that area her home for over 23 years.
Because of her love of the outdoors, Marian does plein air painting at every opportunity. She also enjoys doing portraiture and focuses on expressing the unique qualities of her subjects.
Marian has worked in several different mediums, including oils, pastels, stained and fused glass and ceramics.
She currently maintains her studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is available for portrait, landscape or mural commissions.
